tried to start the server with the command "/my_path/apache/bin/httpd
-d /my_path/ensembl". Also I don't find the module mod_headers.so under
my apache directory after installing mod_perl. Not sure what I am

It looks like Apache mod_perl is not configured correctly - mod_headers.so is an Apache module, not part of the Ensembl codebase, so the server shouldn't be looking in ensembl/modules on startup. Did you follow our instructions for compiling Apache, or use the version that came with your OS?<br>
